I thought I could do the same, but I followed his bad habits and wound up in county jail and in prison. “My dad was a functioning (drug) addict and he had a job in construction. “I was a good person but I was making bad choices on how to make money,” said Tubbs, who resides in Ventura. After graduating high school, Tubbs worked several jobs, but he found himself in and out of jail. Tubbs went on to Ventura High, where he also played football. I’m glad I made the choice to go to boot camp.” “It was either that or the Youth Authority (YA). “I did really well there because I liked the military-like structure of the program,” Tubbs told The Star on Tuesday. ![]()
